How to Get the Most Out of Your Family Photo Session
As a San Luis Obispo family photographer, I’ve learned that the best photos come from real connection — not stiff poses or perfectly polished smiles. If you’re wondering how to get the most out of your session with me, here’s the truth: it’s not about “performing” for the camera. It’s about showing up, being yourselves, and loving on your people.
Here’s how to make the most of our time together (and have fun doing it!):
1. Let Go of “Perfect”
No one needs to sit still. No one has to say “cheese.” The magic happens in the in-between moments — when your kid grabs your hand, or you burst into laughter mid-snuggle. Trust me, those are the photos you’ll treasure forever.

2. Look for Every Opportunity to Hug, Snuggle, Play, and Pay Attention to Your Kids
