Maryn & Kitty | Central Coast Senior Session with a Horse

Some senior sessions are beautiful because of the location. Others are special because of the connection.

Maryn’s senior session was both.

We met on a private cattle ranch in Cayucos, where rolling hills, weathered barns, and the golden light of California’s Central Coast created the perfect setting. But what made this evening unforgettable wasn’t just the scenery—it was watching Maryn with her horse, Kitty.

It was obvious from the moment they were together that Kitty wasn’t just a horse she rides. She is part of Maryn’s story, and including her in these made the entire session feel genuine and uniquely hers.

One of my favorite things about photographing seniors is helping them create a session that reflects who they truly are. Whether that’s bringing your horse, your dog, your first car, or choosing a location that’s meaningful to you, those personal touches transform portraits into memories you’ll treasure long after graduation.

In addition to spending time in the open pasture with Kitty, we also took the opportunity to wander the property and find some other spots, including an old weathered barn!

We also incorporated Maryn’s car into a few portraits. Your senior year is all about looking ahead, and for many seniors, that first car represents freedom, independence, and all the adventures waiting just around the corner. It felt like the perfect way to celebrate both where she’s been and where she’s headed next.
