As a high school senior, or as the mom of a high school senior, you’re in a season of “lasts”—the last first day of school, the last football game, the last dance. And while senior year is filled with excitement, it’s also a little bittersweet. One of the best ways to capture this milestone is through beautiful senior photos—vibrant, light-filled images that showcase your teen’s personality and the incredible person they’ve become.
I know senior photos can feel overwhelming—what to wear, where to go, and how to make sure your teen actually enjoys the experience. But here’s the thing: this isn’t just a photoshoot. It’s a chance to celebrate this big moment in a fun, laid-back way. My approach? I make the session feel like you’re just hanging out with a longtime friend—easy, comfortable, and full of laughter. No stiff poses, no forced smiles—just beautiful senior photos filled with real joy.

Let’s talk about how to make the most of your senior’s session.
The best time to book a session depends on the look you want and your senior’s schedule. But before picking a date, make sure to check with your school about the deadline for turning in senior yearbook photos! Every school has different submission dates, and you don’t want to scramble at the last minute. Booking with this deadline in mind ensures you have plenty of time to select and submit the perfect image. If you happen to live in my area, on the Central Coast, yearbook submission deadlines are earlier than most people realize. Start researching early to ensure you can book a time of year with the look and feel you’re hoping for!
📌 Need to check your school’s yearbook deadline? Many schools list their dates on their website—try searching for “[Your School Name] Yearbook Submission Deadlines” or check resources like Jostens.com.
If you’re stressing about outfits—don’t! The best advice I can give is to wear something that feels right.

Here’s my promise: I won’t make your senior stand there awkwardly wondering what to do with their hands. 😉
Most teens aren’t used to being in front of a camera, and that’s exactly why my approach is so relaxed. We’ll chat, laugh, and keep it casual—before they know it, they’ll be having a great time.
By the end of the session, even the most camera-shy teens tell me, “Wow, that was actually fun!” And that’s how you get those real, joyful, beautiful senior photos—when they feel completely at ease.
Once the session is done, you’ll have a collection of gorgeous images—but what’s next? Don’t let them just sit on a cell phone! There truly is something different and special about holding your images in your hands!
Senior year flies by, and before you know it, they’ll be off chasing their next big adventure. Beautiful senior photos are a way to celebrate who they are right now and the incredible journey ahead.
